ATTESTATION OF DOCUMENTS OR CERTIFICATES
Applications for attestation of documents/certificates etc. issued by Sri Lankan authorities can be submitted to the Embassy. However such documents/certificates have been issued by authorities in Sri Lanka and should be certified by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo.
Applications for attestation of documents/certificates issued by the Italian authorities and authorities in Greece, Cyprus, Albania, Malta, and San Marino can also be submitted to the Embassy. However such documents/certificates such as medical certificates, Birth Marriage, Death certificates, should be duly certified by the Municipality ( Comune) or other relevant authorities such as Prefettura or Procura (Public Procecutors Office for lower law courts) with respective seals and signature/s
Document issued by foreign countries should be counter signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country or its diplomatic representative in the country in which such documents have been issued, before the request is made to the Embassy.
The Embassy only authenticates the seal and signature of the officer who legalized such documents, and not the contents in the documents.
Documents required: All original documents should be submitted with a photocopy

c. Relevant fee in Euro.
